The 246th Army Band, located in Columbia, South Carolina, is under the command of CW2 Jessie Morlan. The band is comprised of forty plus members who, in addition to Concert and Ceremonial duties, are assigned to four Musical Support Teams (Ceremonial Band, Pop-music Band (Moment's Notice), Jazz Combo (Blues In Green) and the Brass Quintet). The unit performs in military ceremonies, community parades, and at various public concerts. Over the past five years the band has participated in:
50th Anniversary Celebrations commemorating the end of the Korean War (Honolulu, HI)
Change of Command ceremony for the Joint InterAgency Task Force (Key West, FL)
Dedication ceremony of the new Cooper River Bridge (Charleston, SC)
Change of Command Ceremony (Fort Detrick, MD)
Joined with the 282nd and 434th Army Bands to perform a joint concert at the Koger Center (Columbia, SC)
Yearly concerts throughout South Carolina

The mission of the 246 Army Band is "to provide music throughout the full spectrum of military operations and instill in our Soldiers the will to fight and win, foster the support of our citizens, and promote our national interests at home and abroad."
